THE FOOTBALL POSITION
This position is best if you are having twins and want to feed them at the same time. It is also useful in those who have had a cesarean section and in those babies who have cleft palate (It is a birth defect that occur when a baby’s mouth or lip do not form properly).
Hold your baby at your side, under your arm with your elbows bent. Baby should face upwards with his face lying on the level of breast and legs pointing towards back. Support your baby’s head with your hand and his back with your forearm. Use your right hand if nursing from right breast. You can use pillows for your comfort to support your baby.
