Chocolate Brownies

Chocolate Brownies are always a blissful delight for people of all ages. Children love having chocolate brownies in their lunch. Try our yummy recipe to give this treat an awesome touch.


  • 1 Cup Self raising flour
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa powder sieved ( I used Hershey's cocoa powder )
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • Vanilla essence (few drops)
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Butter


  1. To make self raising flour at home: Add 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder and 1/4 tsp of salt to 1 cup of all purpose flour and sieve it 2-3 times.
  2. First beat eggs and sugar for few minutes
  3. Then add oil and beat again.
  4. Add cocoa powder and self raising flour and then mix it well with the help of spatula.
  5. You can beat also it for 10-15 sec for a good mix but not more than that
  6. Transfer the batter in a greased oven proof pan and bake it for 18-20 min (electric oven) or 25-30 min (gas oven). Check your sponge by inserting a tooth pick, if it comes out clean then your sponge is ready.
  7. For frosting: Combine 1/2 cup milk,1/2 cup icing sugar,2 tbsp cocoa powder and 1/2 tbsp butter in a pan and cook on medium flame till a thick paste is formed. No need to let it cool. Frost brownies while they are still warm.
