Marble Cake Recipe

Easy to bake and understand Marble Cake Recipe


  • 200 gm Self Raising Flour
  • 200 gm butter softened
  • 200 gm caster sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2-3 tbsp milk


  1. Heat oven to 180C.
  2. Grease a cake mold and line the bottom with a grease proof paper.
  3. Beat butter and sugar till the mixture is creamy and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time and beat for 1-2 seconds each time.
  5. Now fold in vanilla essence and self raising flour and mix it properly until the mixture is smooth. you can also beat it for 30 sec if you don't feel like folding by hand.
  6. Transfer 1/4 of the batter in another bowl. Mix cocoa powder and milk in it and beat for like 10 sec.
  7. Now transfer the batter of 1st bow in the cake tin followed by the cocoa batter in another bowl.
  8. Tap the mold bottom on your work surface to make the batter evenly distributed .
  9. Take a fork or a skewer to swirl around the mixture creating a marbled effect.
  10. Bake it in a preheated oven for about 25-30 mins until the tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Remove and cool on a wire rack.
